The Studio for Electroacoustic Music has resumed its full operation

As a production space, the Studio for Electroacoustic Music has remained partially operational. During the Corona-crisis lockdown, many of the Academy’s locations were closed, with employees and members working productively from home or in the Studio. The Member-Interviews, which were recorded over the telephone or the internet with help from the Studio for Electroacoustic Music, are one of the results of this period. Production for the new CD „SprachKlang“ by academy member Erhard Grosskopf, also went on parallel to the interview recordings. The CD was released in May 2020 by NEOS. 

The highlight of the summer were the audio and video recordings made for the Georg Katzer Project. The concert program with works by Georg Katzer was supposed to be presented as part of the EM4 concert series on the 6th of May. As compensation, the pieces were recorded together with the Ensemble JungeMusik, under the artistic direction of Helmut Zapf, and will be published online in early autumn. The concert  “EM4 | Berliner Studios: Georg Katzer” was postponed to the 16th of December.

We are glad to have resumed our work – even if restricted by the hygiene rules and safety measures.
