Vita
Yvon Chabrowski, born in East Berlin, studied photography with Timm Rautert und Florian Ebner at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig and Ensba Lyon. She graduated from Peter Piller's masterclass. Her works have already been shown in numerous international exhibitions, including at Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein and the Weserburg Bremen. Kunsthalle Rostock is currently showing her solo exhibition BODIES AND VALUES. Her first comprehensive catalogue, VIDEO AS SCULPTURE, was published by Spector Books.
Residency
I am currently evaluating my research and sketching the script for my new video performance BODIES IN TRANSITION. In March 2020 I researched - supported by Daniela Berglehn and VISIT - in the
archive of Villa Hügel and in the Photographic Collection of the Ruhr Museum on the visual representation of bodies of industrialization and de-industrialization. I I am interested in the body images that surround and shape us - how new body images develop in the course of de-industrialization, which in turn are related to the social conditions surrounding us.
