Christoph Hein: Trutz
In his major new novel Trutz, Christoph Hein describes two families in the twentieth century – those of writer Rainer Trutz and Waldemar Gejm, a professor of mathematics and linguistics at the University of Lomonosov where he develops the new research field of mnemotechnics, the study of the origin and function of memory. Hein infuses this story of two lives with the forlorn hope of an existence beyond misery and slavery. Together with Corinna Harfouch (reading) and Hans-Eckardt Wenzel (music).
