Fate and Revolution.
The Secret Chronicler Michail Prischwin
During his lifetime, Michail Prischwin (1873–1954) was known as an author of children’s books and “singer of the Russian nature” (Maxim Gorki). The sheer enormity of his gigantic oeuvre as a diarist – a diary written in secret – only became apparent long after death. It spans the three revolutions, the Great Purge and the Second World War, and only ends after Stalin’s death. His literary importance and political impact extends right up to the present day. With Eveline Passet, Olga Martynova, Oleg Jurjew and Matthias Weichelt.
