Katrin Sello. On Reflections and the Power of Art Criticism
In 1976, publicist and art historian Katrin Sello (1941–1992) became the first woman to head the Kunstverein Hannover. In her articles and over 70 sometimes quite unusual exhibitions organised by her, she focused on connections between art and society, works by women artists, contemporary positions in Lower Saxony and the East-West exchange. At this archive presentation Uwe M. Schneede provides an overview of Katrin Sello's achievements; Victoria Sturm reads her texts; and Irmela Roelcke plays works by Mozart and Schubert.
