Adolf Muschg: Heimkehr nach Fukushima
The recently separated architect Paul Neuhaus receives an invitation to Japan from his old friends Ken-Ichi and Mitsuko. The mayor of a village near the site of the Fukushima disaster wants to engage Neuhaus for an artist colony in the contaminated zone to generate new hope among the local population. Accompanied by Mitsuko – reading Stifter during the trip – they both develop an inescapable and intense closeness. Is a future possible in the beautiful but contaminated Fukushima landscape as well as in the love between Paul and Mitsuko? Discussion with Norbert Lammert.
