100 Years of Bauhaus Photo gymnastics
The "Frauentanz" staged in 1929 by Oskar Schlemmer and students of the Bauhaus's stage workshop had a scene in which men dressed as women posed for photographs and presented themselves gymnastically and acrobatically with their costumes. With the "metallic party", guests were then also invited to be photographed in the Bauhaus photo studio as costumed fictional characters. A similar photo studio will be provided for all guests and cooperators at the "100 jahre bauhaus" opening festival on Sunday, 20 January 2019. It will be set up by Torsten Blume (Stiftung Bauhaus Dessau).
Anyone up for photographing can choose from a wealth of costume pieces and props to fit themselves out for a snap as "Bauhaus dancers". Bauhaus gymnastics to warm up are offered to ensure the appearance when shooting is as eccentric as possible and to make the respective characters into interesting "dancer people". The resulting photographs will be exhibited right there and can also be taken away by the subject in postcard format (for a € 2 contribution to costs).
