On the occasion of the exhibition, the Akademie der Künste is dedicating a programme of films, talks, concerts and readings to the artistic examination of architectural and ideological remains of National Socialism. What are the strategies of the arts in dealing with past and present right-wing violence? What about the relationship between art and power? What does sound contribute to reflection on history? How does a dancing body formulate resistance against Nazi architecture? In view of the global upsurge of anti-democratic movements and the frightening topicality of racist and anti-Semitic attacks, the programme deals with politics of exclusion and repressed memory, about the between fascist aesthetics and violence, about places of inconsolability and artistic resistance.
